Dennis L. Dinger is a small business financial and management consultant at Kern and Company, P.C., Certified Public Accountants. Founded in 1980, the firm serves the Eastern and Central Pennsylvania market.

Dennis began his career as an auditor for seven years with the accounting firm of Main LaFrentz & Co. (now part of KPMG). His clients at Main LaFrentz & Co. included companies in the construction and transportation industries, both closely held and publicly traded. He eventually became the Controller of one of his publicly traded transportation clients. He began a banking career in 1983 with Dauphin Deposit Bank & Trust Company. In 1986 he became the bank’s chief financial officer (CFO), a position he held until the bank was sold in 1997. During his tenure as CFO, his responsibilities included capital management, budgeting, long-range planning, tax planning, regulatory reporting, SEC reporting, investor relations, and asset/liability management. He has completed numerous financing transactions, including private and public debt and equity offerings, treasury stock acquisitions, etc. He was involved with numerous mergers and acquisitions including transaction valuation, due diligence and final integration of acquisitions.

In December 2003 Dennis became Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Pennrock Financial Services Corporation, the holding company for Blue Ball National Bank. In 2004, he was elected as Chairman of the Board, a position he held until the bank was sold in 2005.

Additionally, Dennis has served as CFO in numerous other industries including transportation, import, and three start-up companies in the technology, energy, and banking related industries. He has also done numerous consulting assignments including acquisition analyses and valuation analyses.

Dennis is a graduate of Shippensburg University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting.

He is an active member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and has either served or serves on the board of directors of many community and civic organizations. He is currently on the board of trustees of Homeland Center, a nursing care facility located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Willits Footwear Worldwide located in Halifax, Pennsylvania.
