James M. Combs, Esquire is licensed as an attorney by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and by the State of New Jersey. Jim is "of counsel" at Kern and Company, P.C.

Since 1977, he has engaged in the practice of law specializing in business and individual transactions, tax representation, legal and tax research, legal and tax planning, legal and tax plan implementation, tax compliance and client representation services. From 1978 through 1993, Jim was a Professor at Penn State University, Harrisburg, where he lectured in law, taxation, and accounting.

Jim worked as director of tax services for a Philadelphia CPA firm and has served as a free lance business consultant for various CPA firms throughout Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Jim is a graduate of Ohio Northern University's Petit College of Law, having obtained his undergraduate degree from Juniata College. At Ohio Northern University, Jim was a six-time winner of the American Jurisprudence Award and a member of the board of advisors for the moot court team. Jim received his Masters in Taxation from Villanova University in 1984.

Jim has extensive experience in estate planning, gift and estate tax planning, trust accounting and taxation, business structure planning, limited partnerships, LLCs, S corporations, and family limited partnerships.

For many years Jim has served Kern and Company, P.C. as tax specialist and performs tax research, planning, structuring, and compliance services.
