H. Thomas Campton, Jr. is the President of and a shareholder at Kern and Company, P.C. Founded in 1980, the firm serves the Eastern and Central Pennsylvania market.
Tom is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA). Tom is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), a Certified Fraud Auditor (CFA), and an Accredited Business Valuator (ABV), an AICPA designation in business valuations. He is also an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Central Pennsylvania and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA – business valuations). Tom has published articles in The Central Penn Business Journal and in The Valuation Examiner, an international magazine dealing with business valuation issues. He is a member of the PICPA’s statewide Federal Taxation Committee, a member of the PICPA’s statewide Forensic Accounting and Litigation Services Committee, as well as a member of the PICPA’s statewide Business Valuation Committee.
During 2006, Tom received an award from the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal for being one of the year’s “Forty Under 40”. This award is given out annually to forty individuals under the age of 40 who have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability within their industry and the local community.
Tom serves the community through his service on the Advisory Board of the World Forgotten Children’s Foundation, a charity serving handicapped children in third world countries. He is also a member of the Board of Directors as well as the Treasurer of the Humane Society of the Harrisburg area.
Tom graduated magna cum laude from Pennsylvania State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Tom’s work at Kern and Company, P.C. involves a wide variety of accounting, consulting, and tax areas. He services clients who belong to a wide variety of industries with concentrations in service companies and not-for-profit organizations. He has extensive experience in retirement planning, tax planning, systems design, business valuations, and forensic accounting.
